Pha nước mắm: 2 muỗng canh nước mắm, 2 muỗng canh đường trắng, 1 muỗng cà phê bột ngọt, 1 trái ớt chín cắt nhỏ, 1 ít nước cốt chanh, tỏi băm nhỏ, nêm nếm lại cho vừa khẩu vị theo sở thích chua ngọt.
Lần lượt cho tôm, thịt, giò vào thau trộn, thêm lá bạc hà cắt nhỏ. Trộn đều các hỗn hợp lên.
Nếu thích trộn cùng với nước mắm thì rưới nước mắm đã pha lên trên và trộn đều cho hỗn hợp ngấm gia vị. Còn thích dùng nem gói cuộn lại chấm mắm thì bỏ qua bước này. Cho gỏi tôm thịt ra đĩa dùng bánh tráng cuốn lại chấm với mắm chua ngọt.
